Invisalign results: when do you start noticing them?

Invisalign before and after video!

I was asked to explain what is happening in this video in which a girl shows her evolution and results using Invisalign.

Clearly there is a before and after change using this type of orthodontics.

Tell me, what do you think? Does it work, or doesn’t it work?

@janerherraizortodontics I have been asked to explain what happens in this video and here we go 🦷 In the video, we see a girl who has severe dental crowding, especially on the bottom, and is undergoing Invisalign treatment🔎 Over several weeks, she shows us the changes that are taking place in her mouth📊 This is a clear example that Invisalign does work✅ What is Invisalign?🤔 🔵 Invisible Orthodontics: Clear aligners that can be easily put in and taken out. 🔵Planning: A personalized plan is created at the dentist, where the final result is decided. 🔵Progressive changes: Every week a new aligner is changed, and little by little, the teeth are moved until the desired alignment is achieved. In this case, the girl documented her progress week by week, and the results are spectacular, achieving a perfect alignment of both her upper and lower teeth🏆 If you also want to improve your smile in a comfortable and discreet way, come see us at our clinic in Barcelona! 📩😊 #Invisalign #OrthodonticsInvisible #SonrisaPerfecta #AlmudenaHerraiz #JanerOrthodontics #ClinicaDentalBarcelona #TeethAligned #Orthodontics ♬ original sound - Almudena Herraiz Orthodontist.

Invisalign before and after

Average duration of Invisalign treatments

Invisalign treatment results may vary depending on the individual case and the complexity of the malocclusion.

However, many patients begin to notice changes in the alignment of their teeth within a few weeks.

First results with Invisalign When do they arrive?

In the first 2 to 3 weeks, you may notice small improvements in the alignment of your teeth.

This is a good indication that the aligners are working properly. You may notice a feeling of pressure or discomfort, especially when changing to a new set of aligners, which is normal and signals that the teeth are moving.

For many patients, the most noticeable changes begin within 2 to 3 months of treatment. This includes alignment of the front teeth and improvements in crowding problems or closing of spaces between teeth. You will have adapted better to wearing aligners, and your cleaning and care routine will be more natural.

During treatment you will have follow-up visits with your orthodontist to evaluate progress and adjust the treatment plan if necessary.

If your case is more complex, it is possible that the most noticeable changes occur after 6 months of treatment.

Total treatment time with Invisalign can vary from 12 to 18 months, although in simpler cases it can be shorter and in more complex cases it can be longer. It is important to have realistic expectations and maintain constant communication with the orthodontist to ensure the best possible result.

Factors affecting the visibility of Results

  1. Severity of malocclusion. More severe cases may take time to show significant visible changes.
  2. Adherence to treatment. Wearing the aligners for the recommended time (22 hours a day) is crucial to see faster results.
  3. Patient’s age. Younger teeth and bones tend to respond more quickly to Invisalign treatment.
  4. Instructions from the orthodontist. Following the recommendations and attending follow-up appointments is essential for successful treatment.

I don't see any changes in invisalign, why?

If you are not seeing changes with your Invisalign treatment, it may be due to several factors:

  • Improper use of aligners such as hours of use (minimum 22 hours per day) or skipping days.
  • Insufficient time. You may not have worn the aligners long enough to see significant changes. Some tooth movements may take longer to be visible.
  • More severe or complex cases may require more time to show visible changes.
  • Problems with the fit of the aligners. If the aligners do not fit correctly, it is possible that they are not moving the teeth as they should. At Janer&Herraiz, thanks to the weekly monitoring we do with Smart Invisible Orthodontics, we can detect if your aligners do not fit correctly.

If you follow all of the recommendations and still don’t see changes after a reasonable amount of time, it is critical that you talk to your orthodontist. They can assess if there are any problems with your treatment and make the necessary adjustments to make sure you are on the right path to an aligned smile.
