Zirconia veneers

They are made of zirconium oxide, a ceramic material, very resistant, durable and natural looking.
They withstand great masticatory forces without damage or breakage, it is usually the material of choice for crowns/veneers on teeth or on implants, in the case of veneers in the anterior esthetic sector we always prefer to make composite veneers, with their excellent esthetic properties.

Disadvantages Zirconia veneers

  • They are less esthetic than many restorative materials such as composite, lithium disilicate veneers or feldspathic veneers. Therefore, they are not usually the material of choice for esthetic veneers.
  • High cost.
  • Poorer adhesion to the dental pieces.
